Dr Ashleigh McFeeters

Dr Ashleigh McFeeters is the Lecturer in Child Protection Administrative Data At Childlight, The University of Edinburgh.
Her research involves technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and abuse, specifically the gendered marketplace of child sexual abuse material on peer-to-peer networks. Additionally, her research uses administrative data to understand the nature and prevalence of child sex abuse.
She was formerly a senior researcher at the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry where she provided evidence to the Inquiry on sexual, physical and emotional abuse of looked after children in the Catholic Church, boarding schools, foster care, secure care, orphanages, and young offenders’ institutions. Her research interests include institutional abuse and looked after children, female perpetrators of harm, and harmful sexual behaviour between children.
