Dr Ronagh McQuigg
Dr. Ronagh McQuigg is a Reader in the School of Law, Queen’s University Belfast. Her research interests are in the area of international human rights law, with a particular focus on violence against women and domestic abuse.
Ronagh has published a number of books including Criminal Justice Responses to Domestic Abuse in Northern Ireland (2022, Routledge), The Istanbul Convention, Domestic Violence and Human Rights (2017, Routledge) and International Human Rights Law and Domestic Violence (2011, Routledge).
She is also a co-editor (with Professor Vanessa Bettinson) of Criminalising Coercive Control – Challenges for the Implementation of Northern Ireland’s Domestic Abuse Offence (2023, Routledge), and she has published widely in international peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, Ronagh is a qualified solicitor and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
